I am James Potvin. I photograph wild animals in the places they live, from the ridges of Montana to the valleys of Yellowstone, and closer to home across Michigan.

I work alone, on the animal's schedule and not my own. Most mornings end with nothing. The ones that do not are what you see here.

Out there, life narrows to beauty and survival and everything else goes quiet. That is the part I try to bring back and put on your wall.
